What is T1 Service?
A T1, or DS1, is a high-speed data link protocol that has been a standard in the telecommunications industry for more than three decades. A T1 transfers data between two points at 1.544 Mbps symmetrically, and is ideal for customers who need a high-speed connectivity to the Internet or as one link in their virtual or real private network.
To provision the service, we work with your local telephone provider to provision a "local loop" between your premises and the nearest central office (CO). From this CO, your data is transported on a state-of-the-art optical network to our nearest Internet Protocol (IP) switch. From there you, your data is either routed directly to the Internet or kept within a private network for internal communication with your business· other branch offices and/or telecommuters. |
